Pattie L. Doss was born and raised in Macon, Mississippi. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in education and is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies. She started writing in the fourth grade, mostly poetry. Her writing quickly evolved into short stories. She enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with her husband and kids when she isn't writing.

"This Affair was Like the Gift that Kept on Giving"

Discovering your husband had an affair is painful enough, but sometimes what makes it worse is discovering who he stepped out with. Tammie is an interesting protagonist. She does right by her husband, holds it down with her own psychology practice and at home as a wife, and just handles her business. Nevertheless, Mike can't respect and value his wife for all that she is, which lends itself to the obvious as he cheats on her.
You know what I loved about this story? The fact that there was depth and layers to the situation. This isn't your typical urban novel with gritty street tales and kingpins. It was emotionally riveting, but with a more conservative edge. What makes the book hard to turn down is that every time something happened, it simply intensified the heck out of the main situation. I won't say all that happens - this is the first review after all - but I was left speechless by the way one affair was like the gift that kept on giving.

Did this man ever love his wife

This pissed me off to no end. Very short, no point, not developed. This is just a story of a cheating husband and a fake bestie. All it did was make my stomach ill. Did this man ever love his wife? Uh... and if he so wanted to save his marriage why keep cheating? Oh, I forgot...better sex. Will not read from this author again.

My guilty pleasure.

This book was very entertaining and flowed from beginning to end. Pattie Doss does a wonderful job of masterfully creating a book that centers on a realistic issue of a spouse cheating with a wife's best friend. Wow, this book was full of raw emotions from Tammie the wife of Mike and best friend of Rachel whom both deceived her. Once Tammie learned of their act of betrayal, she tried to whether the storm as best as she could for the sake of her children and her sanity. I loved that fact that Tammie just did not sit back and play the victim. She courageously forged ahead with tough decisions about saving her marriage or ending it. I loved this book because it gave me the chance if putting myself in Tammie shoes and wondering what would I do If I found out about my spouse cheating with one of my best friends. Would I chose to do the same thing. How would I react? This book was very emotional and raw and it delivered powerful punches that made my jaw drop. This book was wonderfully written and it reflected the notion that we are stronger than what we appear to be when we are in the midst of a storm. This book is so good that I am hoping for a book 2. I would love to see what will transpire for Tammie, Mike, Rachel and Tammie other friends. Ms. Doss, you have written a great book that I enjoyed from beginning to end. It was fast paced, not boring, dealt with real emotional issues and it was my guilty pleasure.
