Nonetheless, it remains important to understand how the LAPW method works, what its limitations are, and how its parameters determine the quahty and efficiency of calculations. The scientist with an understanding of how the method works has a clear advantage. This edition is an updated and expanded treatment of the LAPW method, including descriptions of key developments in the LAPW method since 1994, such as p 1/2 local orbitals, the APW-i-LO method, LDA+U calculations and non-collinear magnetism, as well as much of the material from the first edition.

David J. Singh, is presently a distinguished research staff member and group leader for theory in the Condensed Matter Sciences Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Lars Nordström is an associate professor in condensed matter theory in the Physics Department of Uppsala University, Sweden.

I bought this on kindle can not even put it on my kindle,(bought a kindle just for this) I have to read it on my PC. And every time I use it at school I have to uninstall it and reinstall it, and every time i do that it creates a new profile in kindle, that i have to delete. because of security settings at my polytechnic. Every-time I exit my network the computer is cleared. So next time i enter in i get a new profile, this is pretty standard network security. My network admin told me he is not quite willing to turn of the network security for kindle and apparently kindle can fix all this on their end. I did talk to kindle for about 45 minutes trying to clear this up. they told me i need to cal back when at school together with my network admin. He said no did not want to waste his time nothing he could do without getting into trouble. So this is my s...t revue and the reason for it. If kindle manages to sort something out i might change it. They were very sympathetic for my problem. but in this case sympathy don't really help.

Tim Delaney has taught graduate and undergraduate sport sociology courses; has published numerous books, articles and book reviews; and has twice served as president of the New York State Sociological Association. He lives in Auburn, New York. Tim Madigan is assistant professor of philosophy at St. John Fisher College and lives in Rochester, New York. He is on the editorial board of Philosophy Now magazine and was formerly editorial director of the University of Rochester Press.
